The working environment of the Jungfrau Railways

Training

Jungfrau Railways give a total of 25 apprentices the chance to train in the fields of commerce in public transport, polymechanics and aerial cableway mechtronics. We gladly accept the federal training mandate, as the young people bring new life to our company with new impulses and ideas. In addition, we are thus able to train our junior staff in line with our requirements, which above all benefit our railway stations.

Advertising of apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are always advertised in local newspapers during the first week of school in August, as well as in our jobvacancies. Jungfrau Railways always abide by the rules of fair play and refuse applications for apprenticeships before the advertisements have been published. In this way we also support schools and avoid prospective apprentices having to make an ever earlier decision on career training. In addition to the letter of application, we also require a current Multicheck (www.multicheck.ch) as well as school reports from the 7th year on.

  • Commercial assistant in public transport
Work-experience trials lasts two days; one day at a railway station and one day at head office. Because of the large number of requests for work-experience trials, we give priority to those who intend to complete an apprenticeship with us.
  • Polymechanic
Work-experience trials generally last five days and take place in Jungfrau Railways workshops (Zweilütschinen, Grindelwald Grund, Lauterbrunnen, Eigergletscher).
  • Aerial cableway mechtronics EFZ
