WAB – the world’s longest cogwheel railway
The Wengernalp Railway (WAB) links the resorts of Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald with Kleine Scheidegg at 2061 metres above sea level. It is the longest continuous cogwheel railway in the world. The busiest section is Lauterbrunnen-Wengen, which transports the supply of goods to the car-free resort of Wengen. Modern, low-floor, panorama carriages, each seating 152 passengers have been deployed on the Grindelwald-Kleine Scheidegg section since 2005.
