Over 200 years ago, the famous poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe was greatly inspired by the many cascading waterfalls when he visited the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Today's visitors take the new aerial cableway from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp where they change to the train to Winteregg and traffic-free Mürren, at 1650 m the highest holiday resort in the Bernese Oberland.
