The world’s longest sledge run Starting at the First summit station, the easy winter-walking path and sledge run lead to frozen Lake Bachalpsee. Here the going gets tougher as the path climbs to Gassenboden, where it branches off to the Faulhorn summit. The hike takes about 2 -2 1/2 hours but the stunning views from the Faulhorn more than make up for the uphill effort. From the summit, the sledge run leads back down the path for a short stretch before branching off to the right after about 400 metres. Sledging over open pastureland, you reach the Alpine huts at Bussalp Oberläger and then Restaurant Bussalp, from where a choice of sledge runs lead down to Grindelwald. Sledging time about 1 - 1 1/2 hours! Information on tariffs at: Fares
