A former pack animal trail, with 600 metres of ascent and 800 metres of descent. Average level of basic fitness required. The Faulhorn vantage point offers overwhelming views of all the Bernese Oberland mountain giants. In the opposite direction, views sweep over the Alpine foothills, the Emmental, Mitteland and the Jura to Germany’s Black Forest and the French Vosges. Seven Swiss lakes can be seen; to the east  Lake Zug and Lake Lucerne, at your feet Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and to the west Lake Biel, Lake Murten and Lake Neuchâtel.
