Schynige Platte – Railway Romance & Mountain Majesty
Those who visit Schynige Platte with the cog railway feel as if they were in the "Belle Epoque". The nostalgic train traverses the seven-kilometre route in 50 minutes. The wooden benches in the carriages and rolling stock from the 19th century are reminiscent of times gone by.
Visitors enjoy a beautiful view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau during the journey and on the mountain . Schynige Platte is the starting point for well-known walks. The Alpine Garden where 600 plant species grow is also located here.
A perfect offer for families: Throughout the entire season, two children up to age 15 travel free per adult to Schynige Platte. Of course that rate also applies to grandparents' trips with their grandchildren or godmothers or godfathers who would like to take a ride on the historic train with their godchildren.
