Alpine Sensation, high-Alpine experience on the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe

As part of the Jungfrau Railway centenary celebrations, a 250-metre-long experience round tour - the Alpine Sensation - will open on the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe on 1 April 2012. This new attraction will create a direct link between the Sphinx Hall and the Ice Palace. Preparations for the opening are forging ahead at full speed and our guests can look forward to an exhilarating Alpine adventure. Free ski and sledging bus from Biel, Lyss, Bern und Thun!

From tomorrow, Friday, our first free skibus service will operate to Grindelwald-First! From now on, we’re offering a free shuttle-bus service from Bern, Thun, Biel and Lyss. Simply board the bus and you’ll soon be on the ski piste: the bus stops directly at the bottom station of the Grindelwald-First aerial gondola. Skicross day with Olympic Champion Mike Schmid on Grindelwald-First

Yesterday, in the Grindelwald-First ski region, school children learned how to tackle a skicross run. Reigning Olympic Skicross Champion, Mike Schmid, skied over the rollers and jumps on the run with the youngsters and gave them various tips and trick. The skicross course is still open to all who fancy trying out this trendy new sport. Have fun!

The line-up at the next SnowpenAir promises to be hot! Not only Bryan Adams, but also Polo Hofer, Kim Wilde and Daniel Kandlbauer will make the snow sizzle at 2000 metres above sea level.

This will be the third time for Bryan Adams to appear at the SnowpenAir on Kleine Scheidegg. In an interview with the Schweizer Illustrierte magazine from May 2011, the rock star said: "I well remember one of the most beautiful open-air concerts that I’ve ever played at. It was in Switzerland, on Kleine Scheidegg, in the middle of the mountains. Simply fantastic. Unforgettable!"

Mammut Anniversary Basecamp

The Mammut Anniversary Basecamp with around 200 tents and various special offers is being held on the Jungfraujoch at 3471 metres above sea level in the first week of August.

It is already the 200th anniversary of the first ascent of the Jungfrau. Good reason for Mammut to use this summit as the official first summit in the biggest summit project of all time – the Mammut Peak Project.

Eliana Burki & iAlpinisti live on Schynige Platte

Eight musical evenings are being held in the Schynige Platte mountain hotel and restaurant to celebrate the completion of its extensive renovation.

The fifth concert in the series “Jungfrau Musical Evenings” will be staged on 5 August 2011 and features Eliana Burki & iAlpinisti.

There are few musicians outside the folklore scene who get to grips with the alphorn - one is Eliana Burki. The songs by Eliana & iAlpinisti are marked by impressions which they have collected on their travels.

The sightseeing platform can be built

Jungfrau Railways can build the Two-Lakes Bridge on the Harder Kulm. The around 55m² platform on the Harder Kulm will be completed during the next 6 to 8 weeks.

The Eiger North Wall dramas staged on an experience trail

Jungfrau Railways have opened a new experience trail – the Jungfrau Eiger Walk. The triumphs and tragedies played out on the Eiger North Wall are presented on the trail between the Eigergletscher station and Kleine Scheidegg. The centrepiece is the so-called "Chilchli", a former transformer station resembling a tiny church (chilchli), housing a six-metre-high model of the Eiger.

Eight “Jungfrau Musical Evenings” are being staged on Schynige Platte to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated and extended mountain restaurant.

The first two concerts with Polo Hofer & Band and Trauffer in June 2011 were a resounding success! Another highlight is scheduled for next Friday, 8 July 2011, when Swiss singer-songwriter Trummer will create a great atmosphere for all guests. His new album "Fürne Königin" was launched in March 2011.

New mountain hotel on Schynige Platte now open

The renovated and extended mountain hotel on Schynige Platte makes an impression with its modern architecture featuring a generous-sized glass facade. Since it opened on 28 May, guests have been able to enjoy refreshment on a new terrace with spectacular views. The total number of seats has been increased from 450 to 650.

Live music on Schynige Platte

Eight evenings of music under the title of «Jungfrau Musical Evenings» will be held on Schynige Platte to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated mountain hotel and restaurant. The series starts on 10 June 2011 with a concert by Polo Hofer & Band. Also lined up are Marc Trauffer, Trummer, Nicolas Senn, Eliana Burki and Evelyn & Kristina Brunner. The last event in the series will be on September 2011 with Oesch’s die Dritten and Tinu Heiniger.

Snow Fun–Top of Europe

The name of the attraction on the Jungfraujoch–Top of Europe and it’s all about the snow-sport activities on tap at the south-east exit of the Sphinx Hall. Snow fun is now even more of a delight for parents and children. The «magic carpet» in the middle of the park takes adventurers straight to the top attractions: whizzing down on the zip line, skiing and snowboarding, snow- biking with a special Velogemel, sledging and snow tubing. Snow Fun–Top of Europe is open to all Jungfraujoch visitors from May to September 2011.
