Is a group reservation necessary?
Seat reservation is required for groups from 10 persons. This can be made at the earliest 3 months in advance. For group reservations please call +41 (0)33 828 72 53. No reservation is required for persons travelling individually.
Is the Jungfrau Railway always in operation?
Yes, we run every day throughout the year.
Is the Jungfraujoch accessible for people in wheelchairs?
It is possible for wheelchair users to travel by rail to the Jungfraujoch Top of Europe. Reservation for groups is essential. Maximum 10 persons per group (max 3 wheelchairs per train composition). Please inform the railway personnel at the station of departure, so that a member of staff is available to assist with changing trains at Kleine Scheidegg. The Jungfraujoch is also wheelchair accessible. The entrance to the Ice Palace is fitted with a stairlift.
Is a 1-day pass (from the municipality) valid as a Half-Fare Card?
A 1-day pass from the municipality (GA Flexicard) entitles the holder to travel to Wengen or Grindelwald free of charge. The fare for the continuation of the journey to the Jungfraujoch via Kleine Scheidegg is half-price.
How much does it cost for a child to travel to the Jungfraujoch?
Children under age 6 travel free. Children from age 6 to 15 with a Junior Card also travel free to the Jungfraujoch, if accompanied by at least one parent. The Junior Card is available at all railway stations for CHF 30.– and is valid for one year. Without a Junior Card, children age 6 to 15 pay half fare.
What type of ticket does a child need?
Children to age 6 always travel free. Children from age 6 to 15 either travel free with a Junior Card or pay half-fare. The Junior Card is available at all railway stations in Switzerland for CHF 30.- per child.
How long does the journey to the Jungfraujoch take?
The journey from Interlaken Ost takes 2.5 hours each way, a total of 5 hours. We recommend a time frame of one day to allow a reasonable amount of time on the Jungfraujoch.
What are the times of the trains to the Jungfraujoch?
The first train leaves Interlaken Ost at 6.35 h. Trains then run hourly, at 5 minutes past the hour (7.05, 8.05, etc.).
What time does the last train leave the Jungfraujoch?
At 16.40 h from the Jungfraujoch in the direction of Interlaken.
Is there anywhere to park a car?
Yes, there is a large car park at Interlaken Ost railway station. You can park there for the entire day (12 hrs) for CHF 5.–.
Does the Good Morning Ticket still exist?
Yes, the Good Morning train runs from May to October, at 6.35 h from Interlaken Ost.
Do I have to buy a ticket for our dog?
No, your dog can travel free to the Jungfraujoch.
Can individual seats be reserved?
A limited number of seats can be reserved, during the period from 1 May to approximately mid-October only. This information is found under the heading "Jungfraujoch" seat reservations.
