Schynige Platte Railway starts season on 26 May 2012

The start of the Schynige Platte Railway’s season has been postponed by a week and will now start on the Whitsun weekend.

It had been planned to open the Schynige Platte Railway season on 17 May 2012, however, last winter’s heavy snowfall meant there was still too much snow in the region for services to begin on Ascension Day. The electricity supply had also been interrupted. The power lines will be repaired and all necessary preparations made by the start of the season. At the opening on 26 May 2012, guests will pay only one way but travel return from all stations of the Jungfrau Railways. Two children to age 15 can travel free with each paying adult.
