Freddy Nock improves world record on Jungfraujoch
On 30 August 2011, Freddy Nock beat the world record that he’d set on the Jungfraujoch only four days earlier.
At an altitude of 3500 metres above sea level, Freddy Nock walked up a 160-metre-long high wire and then down again. No other person has ever done this.
Last Friday, Freddy Nock attempted to walk the distance between the Jungfraufirn and the Sphinx rock on the Jungfraujoch on a high wire. However, storm winds and fog forced him to abandon the venture after 60 metres and return to the start – walking backwards! On 30 August, Freddy and his team then spontaneously decided to risk another attempt. This time the weather was good and the high-wire artist was able to beat his world record.
