Bike offer of the Jungfrau Railways

Bicycles, mountain bikes and other transport devices (scooters, longboards, etc.) are generally only transported on routes up to the inhabited villages (Wengen, Mürren, Grindelwald) in accordance with Swiss regulations.

On the First Cableway as well as the BLM cable car to Grütschalp, bicycles, mountain bikes and scooters can only be transported during summer operations.

Bike transport costs
Transport on the routes up to the inhabited villages (Wengen, Mürren, Grindelwald) costs CHF 6.00 per way – the same charge as for luggage.

  • First Railway: On the First Cableway (from 16.00 h), the bike transport costs CHF 12.00.
  • WAB: On the WAB (from 16.00 h), the bike transport costs CHF 8.00.

For self-loading of bicycles, as most guests do, the tariffs of the SBB (tariff T601) apply. Self-loading is not possible on the First Cableway for operational reasons. 

E-Bikes
E-Bikes are transported. according to the tariff. The only exception is the First Cableway. They are not carried here because of the weight of the e-bikes

No transport takes place on the following routes:

  • Wilderswil - Schynige Platte (SPB)
  • Wengen - Kleine Scheidegg - Grindelwald (WAB*)
  • Grindelwald Terminal – Eigergletscher (EE)
  • Kleine Scheidegg – Eigergletscher – Jungfraujoch (JB)
  • Interlaken - Harder Kulm (HB)


WAB*: with the exception of afternoon trains on the mountain routes of the WAB from Lauterbrunnen/Wengen and Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg from trains 371 (15:30 from Lauterbrunnen) and 473 (16:15 from Grindelwald) until the end of service. On the descent from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald Grund and Grindelwald, bicycle transport is possible at any time for an appropriate fee, space permitting. 

Arrival by Grütschtrail
By train

Via Bern or Lucerne to Interlaken Ost. Change to the Berner Oberland-Bahn to Lauterbrunnen. Change to the BLM cable car towards Grütschalp.

By car
Via Bern or Lucerne to Interlaken. Or from the south, via the Grimsel Pass (summer only) or the Simplon Pass and the Lötschberg car-transport train to Interlaken. Then follow the signs to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen. Parking is available in the car park at the railway station. Take the BLM cable car to Grütschalp.

Arrival at Grindelwald-First
With the Bernese Oberland Railway or by car to Grindelwald. With the First Railway from the valley station in the upper village centre in three sections to Grindelwald-First. Journey time from Grindelwald: approximately 25 minutes.
