Jungfrau Ski Region wins Public and Jury Prize in China

The Jungfrau Ski Region is gaining prominence in China. It has won the Golden Snowflake Public Award for “World's top ski resort most popular with Chinese skiers”. The region also received the Sino-Swiss Business Award for “Most China-Ready Swiss Winter Destination”.

Interest in winter sports is experiencing rapid growth in China, with the 2022 Winter Olympics being held in Beijing. Due to the popularity of the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe in the summer and the destination of Interlaken and the Jungfrau region in general, the Jungfrau Ski Region is also enjoying a rapidly growing reputation. This is reinforced by the successful cooperation in the area of communications between Swiss Tourism, Interlaken Tourism, Jungfrau Region Tourism and the Jungfrau Railways for the Chinese market.  

Public Prize at the emerging Ski Industry Conference: Golden Snowflake Award

The Golden Snowflake Ski Industry Alliance (GSSIA) is a non-governmental organisation created by leading private companies and personalities within the Chinese ski industry. The goal is to highlight excellence in this area as well as to raise the standards of the burgeoning field of winter sports in China. The second Golden Snowflake award ceremony was held on 15 October in Beijing. In 2019, the public and experts from the ski industry were asked their opinion. In total, 530,000 public votes were cast.

Sino-Swiss Business Award in recognition of the V-Cableway project

The Sino-Swiss Business Award is given every other year by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Beijing. This year it was hosted on 1 November in cooperation with Swiss Tourism’s Swiss Winter Festival China. In the category “Most China-Ready Swiss Winter Destination”, the Jungfrau Ski Region prevailed over its competitors Zermatt and Andermatt. The ski destinations were assessed by a jury composed of experts from the Sino-Swiss sphere and tourism. This jury praised the appeal of the V-Bahn project, as well as the good networking of the Jungfrau Ski Region in the tourism industry in China.
