From the Eiger Trail you feel you can almost touch the Eiger north face, and you can clearly make out the various different climbing routes to the summit of the Eiger. The Eiger north face continues to be regarded as a performance benchmark and attracts climbing experts from all over the world. Now it is finally possible for all those who have some experience of walking in the mountains, to at least venture to the foot of the famous wall. The path leads over steep Alpine meadows and scree slopes at the foot of the world-famous and imposing Eiger north face, past a wonderful waterfall, to the restaurant and on to Alpiglen station on the Wengernalp railway. The views up to the impressive Eiger wall, to Kleine Scheidegg and to the Lauberhorn, as well as down to the lush Grindelwald valley, are unique and sublime. Note(s) Good walking boots required.
