Book: Bernese Oberland Railways - Interlaken-Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald Valley Railways (in German)
Only a year after the commissioning of the Bödeli Railway, an initial licence application was submitted for a normal-gauge line to Lütschinentäler in 1873. However, the project did not come to fruition. In 1886, a licence application was submitted for a railway from Bönigen to Lauterbrunnen and a branch line from Zweilütschinen to Grindelwald. On 29 April 1887, the Federal Assembly granted the licence. Bernese Oberland Railways (BOB) began operation as planned on 1 July 1890. In 1895, the BOB also took over the Schynige Platte Railway. In May 1914, both railways converted to electrical operation.
Today, the valley railways are modern suburban lines.

The book was published in 2011, it has 320 pages and its author is Jürg Aeschlimann
