360° cinematic experience: The Alps up close

The snow-covered peaks, the craggy and jagged steep faces, the ice masses of the glaciers – at the 360° cinema you get closer to this monumental Alpine cosmos than ever before. The Jungfrau Panorama film conveys an up-close, 360-degree all-round experience of the mountain world. Like an alpine chough, you fly along vertical rock faces, sail through cloud fields or cross ice crevasses. This proximity gives you an idea of the forces that led to the formation of the Alps. When the European and African continental plates collided millions of years ago, masses of rock from these plates piled up on top of each other like roofing tiles – which can be seen clearly on the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Did you know that…
the Alps grow 0.7 millimetres per year? However, this increase in height is worn away again by erosion. The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau thus remain at their current heights.
