For the journey to the Jungfraujoch, we strongly recommend a paid seat reservation (CHF 10 per person). This reservation is valid for return journeys on the Jungfrau Railway from Eigergletscher / Kleine Scheidegg and ensures that you can travel at the desired time. Without a timed seat reservation, the Jungfrau Railway may well be full at peak times and you will have to wait for the next train. Book now at jungfrau.ch/seatreservation.
Seat reservation mandatory: 01.05.2025 - 31.08.2025
On your excursion to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, to the highest railway station in Europe, you will climb to an altitude of 3,454 metres above sea level and reach the alpine mountain world. In summer and winter, temperatures below freezing point are to be expected and weather changes can also occur at short notice. We recommend that you dress according to the so-called “onion principle” so that you can adapt your clothing to the conditions. The basic equipment for the excursion includes a jacket, closed shoes, a hat, a pair of gloves and sunglasses because of the high-altitude sun.
For day visitors arriving by car, we recommend using the Park+Ride Matten bei Interlaken. An overview of all car parks and parking spaces and their live status can be found on the Parking page.
Yes, the fastest route of Interlaken Ost <> Grindelwald Terminal (Eiger Express) <> Eigergletscher <> Jungfraujoch is barrier-free.
If you want to travel via Kleine Scheidegg, booking in advance by telephone is essential. Trains depart from Kleine Scheidegg where staff are required to help passengers get on and off at Kleine Scheidegg, Eigergletscher and Jungfraujoch stations. Registration via the Contact Center Handicap.
