Lauterbrunnen

Take the cogwheel railway to the Kleine Scheidegg or the cable car to the Mürren side? At Lauterbrunnen you can decide spontaneously. Nestled between giant rock faces, the location is ideal for hiking and as a starting point for numerous day trips. Getting to Lauterbrunnen

By rail: Via Bern or Lucerne to Interlaken-Ost. Change to the Berner Oberland-Bahn to Lauterbrunnen.

By car: Via Bern or Lucerne to Interlaken. Or from the south, via the Grimsel Pass (summer only) or the Simplon Pass and the Lötschberg car-transport train to Interlaken. Then follow the signs to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen.

Impressive waterfalls

We also have cows in Illinois, of course, but they don't wear bells. Our state is absolutely flat. That's why I'm very impressed by the mountainous landscape here and by the waterfalls in particular.
