Grindelwald First Murmeltier Lehrpfad Kinder

Marmot trail and barbecue area

The warning whistles of the marmots can be heard all around. However, you need patience if you want to see them. If the little ones don't get to see them, they can meet faithfully carved replicas on the two-hour marmot trail from First to Schilt, pose at the photo wall together with the Munggi family or, thanks to the info tables along the way, learn all about marmot life. The accompanying booklet with a Munggi story is available at the summit and valley stations. All this will make you tired and hungry. The marmot benches and the barbecue area come into view just in time. Perhaps a marmot will suddenly appear when no-one is looking out for one? From the final post at the barbecue area, you will finally hike to Schreckfeld station or to Grosse Scheidegg, where you will take the bus back to the valley.

Ascent: 234 m
Descent: 434 m
