Oliver Hammel completed his training as an design engineer (Swiss Federal VET Diploma) in 2002 and completed various further training courses in the areas of leadership, marketing and sales. He initially worked as a project manager and design engineer in Swiss industrial companies (2002–2006) before working worldwide as a service technician for EROWA AG from 2006 to 2010. He was then responsible for marketing, sales and service for North East Asia at EROWA AG in Shanghai(2010–2015). From 2015 to 2022, he managed the Technology division in the Chinese market at DKSH Holding Ltd. and was then Managing Director of the same division for Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar until 2025. He has been CEO of Jungfrau Railways since 2025.
