The Grindelwald-First excursion area has gained another attraction: on Friday, 14 July 2023, the Jungfrau Railways opened the new “First View” vantage platform. The platform offers a unique all-round view of the impressive mountain world. It is accessible during the operating hours of the First Aerial Cableway; the visit is included in the rail ticket.

The new metal-concrete construction in the shape of a wind turbine was built in just under one and a half months. “The First summit experience becomes even more attractive with the First View and forms a great combination together with the First Cliff Walk”, Jungfrau Railways Director Urs Kessler was pleased to say. Before the platform was also open to the general public from midday onwards, guests invited to the opening on Friday, 14 July 2023, were able to see for themselves that each higher “rotor blade” brings a special section of the mountain world into view: from the highest peaks of the Bernese Oberland to the world-famous Eiger North Face and the mountain world surrounding Grindelwald.

A short walk leads from the First mountain station to the slightly higher vantage point. Various seating options invite you to linger and enjoy. The visit is included in the rail ticket. Those in search of a little thrill will find it next door on the First Cliff Walk suspension bridge or on the two Flying Fox variants, the First Flyer and First Glider.
