Jungfrau Railways engages Olympic snowboard champion

Shortly before the start of the winter sports season, Jungfrau Railways is strengthening its team with the first Olympic snowboard halfpipe champion in history. Gian Simmen will be the manager of the White Elements Park as well as winter sports brand ambassador for Jungfrau Railways.

Gian Simmen takes up the position as Manager of the White Elements Park at Grindelwald-First starting 1 November 2016. As a part of this position, the Olympic snowboard halfpipe champion of 1998 will actively participate in designing the park and the halfpipe at Grindelwald-First, as well as taking care of event organisation on location. Before the season starts, Jungfrau Railways thus brings on board a professional to further strengthen its positioning of Grindelwald as a freestyle winter sports destination. Gian Simmen will simultaneously act as the brand ambassador for Jungfrau Railways winter sports.

Simmen, born in the Grisons canton of Switzerland, will also be working as content publisher for the company and will produce content for both advertising and the Internet, as well as Jungfrau Railways social media channels.

"I am extremely happy about the new challenge with Jungfrau Railways", says Simmen and confirms that, "I will use all my expertise and my network to contribute to the development of the White Element Park."

After his professional career as a snowboarder, Gian Simmen  trained as a sales and marketing professional, gaining a Swiss vocational diploma. He also received training as a social media manager. He was able to successfully complete the CAS Innovation and Change Manager this year. As project coordinator at the Bernese communications agency by the way communications, Gian Simmen recently supervised various projects for the Swiss Football Association and was responsible for media relations for various customers. Gian Simmen is 39 years old. He lives with his wife and their four children in Krattigen in the Bernese Oberland.
