During the three-week closure, rail replacement buses will operate between Zweilütschinen and Lauterbrunnen in accordance with the published timetable, ensuring continued passenger transport throughout the period.
The affected slope below the car park bridge has been under specialist monitoring for several years, due to its known instability. The movements in the slope have now significantly decreased, allowing the next phase of stabilisation and restoration work to take place. These works include raising the track and the bridge back to their original level, thereby ensuring the long-term safety and reliability of the railway infrastructure.
In addition, the closure period will be used to complete scheduled maintenance work on the track structure near Sandweidli, also situated on the Zweilütschinen–Lauterbrunnen section. This coordinated approach enables the BOB to optimise operational efficiency and minimise disruption to passengers.
The Bernese Oberland Railway thanks all passengers for their understanding and cooperation during this period and advises travellers to consult the current timetable for details of the replacement bus services.
