Valley slopes to Wengen and Grindelwald open

The slopes to Wengen and Grindelwald will be open this coming weekend, just in time for the Lauberhorn races. Thanks to the cold temperatures and fresh snow, winter sports enthusiasts are expecting excellent skiing conditions in the Grindelwald-Wengen ski area.

The preparation work on the valley slopes in the Grindelwald-Wengen region has been in full swing over the past few days. Thanks to the recent onset of winter, the descent from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen will be in operation starting tomorrow on Friday, 15 January 2016. The valley slope to Grindelwald (no. 3 Holenstein-Grund and no. 22 Mettlen Brandegg-Grund) will likewise open on Saturday 16 January.

Jungfrau Railways has made every effort to open the valley slopes in time for the Lauberhorn races. The spectators travelling with their winter sports equipment will therefore be able to return to the valley after the races. This will help to significantly ease the return train transport situation.

Additional fresh snow is expected by tomorrow (Friday). Winter sports enthusiasts throughout the entire ski area as well as visitors to the Lauberhorn race will have excellent slope conditions this weekend.
