Icy air sweeps over your face, snow crunches underfoot, and the panorama almost takes your breath away: on one side the view of the Swiss Plateau as far as France, on the other the Aletsch Glacier, lined with four thousand metre peaks. On the sunny side of the Grindelwald valley, the 6-seater aerial gondola leads from the glacier village of Grindelwald to First at 2,168 metres above sea level. The First Flyer, the First Glider, the ride on the Mountain Cart and the Trottibike are among the adventurous attractions in this excursion area. Numerous themed trails, the First Cliff Walk by Tissot and First View are also on offer. The well-known Bachalpsee is the pearl of the mountain lakes and a popular hiking destination. Located directly at the summit station of the First Railway, the mountain restaurant offers the ideal location for your event.

The Harder Railway was inaugurated in 1908. From Interlaken, it only takes ten minutes by funicular to reach Harder Kulm, Interlaken’s local mountain. At 1,322 metres above sea level, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Jungfrau region with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as the Thun and Brienz lakes. The castle-like restaurant, the panorama hall and the Zwei-Seen-Steg vantage platform are among the highlights on Harder Kulm.

The nostalgic cogwheel railway was inaugurated in 1893 and celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2018. Even the 50-minute trip with lovingly maintained historic locomotives and railway carriages is an experience. Once on Schynige Platte, visitors are greeted by a dreamlike mountain world with a unique view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. In addition to a variety of hiking opportunities, the Botanical Alpine Garden and the mountain hotel and restaurant invite you to stay a while.

Big railway station on Kleine Scheidegg: Two cogwheel railways meet here, where you can discover the most beautiful region in the Bernese Oberland. Because nature is very close, and many excursions will tempt you: Would you prefer to go to the Jungfraujoch, hike the Eiger Trail or conquer the Lauberhorn? The Kleine Scheidegg mountain restaurant offers a fantastic view of the mighty triumvirate of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Summit station of the Eiger Express tricable gondola, starting point for the trip to the Jungfraujoch, with the most breathtaking north face in the Alps within reach: that’s the Eiger Glacier railway station. It connects the hiking and skiing area at the foot of the Eiger North Face with the fascinating world of ice and snow of the Jungfraujoch.
