In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG announces that the trend towards fewer visitors was accentuated due to the war in the Middle East. From the beginning of the year to the end of April, the three segments Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, Experience Mountains and Winter Sports recorded an overall drop in frequencies of 5.7 per cent.

Planning permission has been submitted for the hotel at Interlaken Ost railway station. The project is being led by BAULINK AG as the project developer and by Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG (BOB) as the land owner. The basis for this is the legally binding local development plan, which enables the site to be developed further.

In 2025, the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) carried 0.9 per cent more passengers than in the previous year, with 7.2 million passengers. The number of guests on the Schynige Platte Railway rose by 2.3 per cent year-on-year to 112,000. Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG generated total transport revenue of CHF 30.9 million, which is CHF 1.3 million more than in 2024. A deliberate decision to bring forward the replacement of rolling stock on the BOB and the urgent renovation work on the Schynige Platte Railway’s Grätli Tunnel and on the multi-storey car park bridge on the BOB line at Lauterbrunnen resulted in a substantial loss, despite the encouraging business performance.

Jungfraubahn Holding AG announces in an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules that it has achieved the second-highest profit in the company's history in the financial year 2025. At CHF 78.2 million, profit was 2.3% higher than in the previous year. Demand from the core markets remained high throughout the financial year and led to visitor growth of 3.2% across all segments. All three segments – Jungfraujoch, Experience Mountains and Winter Sports – also reported higher average revenues per guest in 2025. The Board of Directors will propose to the Annual General Meeting to increase the dividend to CHF 8.50 per share.

The participation report on the renewal of the First Aerial Cableway was published on Thursday, 29 January 2026. The Grindelwald local council was delighted with the high level of participation, which was reflected in the 90 submissions. Together with the First Aerial Cableway and the independent spatial planning office Ecoptima, the submissions were processed and summarised in the participation report.

The famous Lauberhorn downhill run is open to all winter sports enthusiasts once again. Those who dare can follow the ski stars such as four-time Lauberhorn downhill winner Marco Odermatt and tackle the longest downhill run in the world.

The 2025/2026 winter season got off to an excellent start and the best start to a season in history could be registered.

The AlpsPass has attracted strong interest during its pre-sale: more than 34,000 copies of the new winter sports pass have been sold since 1 September 2025. The AlpsPass brings together four leading ski areas – Adelboden-Lenk, Aletsch Arena, Engelberg-Titlis and the Jungfrau Ski Region. For even more choice and winter fun, the pass also includes three freely selectable complimentary ski days each in Davos Klosters, Arosa Lenzerheide, LAAX, Portes du Soleil and 4 Vallées.

The Schynige Platte mountain hotel and panoramic restaurant, as well as the Winteregg restaurant, are getting new tenants: As CEO and host, Louis Holtfreter will manage the two businesses going forward, with Armin Baumgartner taking more of a background role as Senior Adviser. Both are proven experts in the catering industry.

On 23 October 2025, the Bernese Oberland Railway offered a glimpse into the future. With the expansion to become the first suburban-style railway in the Alps with quarter-hourly services, public transport will be promoted even more and the Lütschinentäler valleys will see a reduction in individual motorised transport. To this end, investments are being made in a uniform fleet of 15 modern low-floor trains. In addition, adjustments will be made to stations and intersections.

The Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) will temporarily close the line between Zweilütschinen and Lauterbrunnen from Monday, 27 October 2025, until the end of service on Saturday, 15 November 2025. The closure is required to carry out further stabilisation works on the railway line in connection with the slope beneath the car park bridge shortly before the entrance to Lauterbrunnen station.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG reports that the Jungfrau Railway Group achieved a first half-year profit for 2025 of CHF 37 million, the highest half-year profit in its history. The 7.3% year-on-year growth in profit was driven by the increase in transport income, which for the first time exceeded CHF 100 million.

On 30 June 2025, Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG exercised its option agreement and ordered a further five ABeh 4/8 multiple unit trains. This marks the continued modernisation of the Bernese Oberland Railway fleet. This means that from 2028 onwards, it will have a uniform fleet of 15 modern low-floor multiple unit trains, which, together with the fleet of multiple unit trains and control cars purchased in 2017, will form the basis for future operations and the first suburban railway in the Swiss Alps.

Today, Friday 13 June 2025, Oliver Hammel is taking over the operational management of Jungfrau Railways. He succeeds Urs Kessler, who retired on Thursday after 38 years with Jungfrau Railways and 17 years at its helm.

A new vantage platform, the Schynige Platte Skywalk, awaits guests on the Schynige Platte. With the start of the season on Saturday, 21 June 2025, the Skywalk, located next to the mountain restaurant and hotel, is open to visitors. The historic Schynige Platte Railway starts its 132nd season on the same day.

The Schynige Platte Railway starts its new season on 21 June 2025. The opening of the season had to be postponed by a week as stabilisation measures on the Grätli tunnel resulted in additional work.

In 2024, the Bernese Oberland Railway carried 7.1 million passengers. That is 5.8 per cent more than in the previous year and more than ever before. The number of guests on the Schynige Platte Railway rose by 6.5 per cent year-on-year to 109,500. Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG generated total transport revenue of CHF 29.6 million, which is CHF 3.5 million more than in the previous year.

Harder funicular AG has extended the lease contract for the restaurant with Harder GmbH. Harder funicular AG had a record year in 2024 with 878,200 ascents and descents made by its guests. Many of these guests not only enjoyed the view, but also the wide range of dishes on offer in the restaurant.

Anyone stopping off at the mountain restaurant on the Schynige Platte or staying overnight in one of the historic rooms will be welcomed by them or will enjoy their food: Jasmin and Thomas Willem start their 18th season on the Schynige Platte in mid-June. It will also be their last season.

Stabilisation work needs to be carried out in the upper section of the Grätli tunnel on the Schynige Platte Railway. Due to the unstable rock area pressing on the tunnel, it has been monitored using measuring instruments since 2023. Now the deformations have accelerated and caused damage to the tunnel. The tunnel will therefore be stabilised with steel girders in May so that the Schynige Platte Railway can start its 132nd season as planned on Saturday, 14 June 2025.

The railways of the Jungfrau Railway Group generated transport income of CHF 205.1 million in 2024. At CHF 76.5 million, it recorded the second-highest profit in its history. The Board of Directors will propose to the Annual General Meeting to increase the dividend to CHF 7.50 per share.

The AlpsPass of the Adelboden-Lenk, Aletsch Arena, Engelberg-Titlis and Jungfrau Ski Region, launched in February 2025, is continuing to expand its offer. Previously, the offer included three free ski days for each of the three Bünder TOPCARD areas. Buyers now receive three exchange days each for the Portes du Soleil and 4 Vallées areas.

Jungfrau Railways is reaching lofty heights with its employee recruitment: On Saturday, 1 March 2025, during the day's winter sports in the Jungfrau Ski Region, interested visitors were able to find out more about working for Jungfrau Railways on the Schilt chairlift and, from mid-February, on the Wixi chairlift. The “speed networking event” was very well received.
