The 25th and final SnowpenAir on 23/24 March 2024 is proving popular: There are only 500 tickets left for the Sunday with Gölä, Heimweh and Stubete Gäng. There are still 2000 tickets available for Saturday.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG announces that there will be a change in the Board of Directors of Jungfraubahn Holding AG due to the twelve-year term limit: Board of Directors member Nils Graf will step down at the General Meeting on 17 May 2024. Daniel Binder is proposed as a new member of the Board of Directors.

Jungfrau Railways is breaking new ground in employee recruitment: On Sunday, 18 February 2024, those who were interested had the chance to find out more about Jungfrau Railways as an employer during their winter sports day in the Jungfrau Ski Region. The first “speed networking event” on the Wixi chairlift was very well received.

On Saturday, the downhill pros were still speeding down the Lauberhorn race track, but now the famous downhill track will be open again to all winter sports guests from Thursday, 18 January 2024. Those brave enough can follow in the footsteps of the ski stars again this week and take on the longest downhill run in the world, at least as far as the S finish. This will also be open to everyone again from Saturday, 20 January 2024.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG announces that the visitor numbers in 2023 increased significantly again compared to the previous year. 1,007,000 guests visited the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe, which essentially corresponds to the pre-pandemic level. Regarding the Experience Mountains, Firstbahn and Harderbahn set new records and the Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain rail- and cableway achieved pre-pandemic figures. The 2023/2024 winter season got off to a good start.

Over 32,000 Top4 ski passes were snapped up by winter sports enthusiasts during the pre-sale period from 1 November 2023 to 15 December 2023. This is slightly lower than the pre-sale figure for the last winter season (around 33,000).

On Saturday, 9 December 2023, there were two reasons to celebrate: the new Wengen Shuttle was inaugurated in Wengen, while the new Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) stop and Park+Ride were opened in Matten. The Wengen Shuttle is the last sub-project to be completed as part of the V-Cableway. The Park+Ride in Matten means that the Lütschinen valleys will be spared further individual traffic.

The Jungfrau Railways will be introducing a number of updates when the timetable changes on 10 December 2023: A new stop and a Park+Ride in Matten near Interlaken as well as selective additional trains on the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) line. On the Wengernalp Railway line, locals and visitors can benefit from the new Wengen Shuttle, which makes traveling with luggage between Lauterbrunnen and Wengen easier and more comfortable around a hundred days a year.

On Friday, the green light was given for greater security of power supply in the Lütschinen valleys. The medium-voltage lines between Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald are being upgraded in collaboration with BKW Power Grid and Jungfrau Railways. This means that the two valleys can continue to enjoy a reliable source of electricity at all times if one of the two high-voltage lines supplying the two valleys were to fail.

The advance sale for the Top4 ski pass for the four largest ski areas in the canton of Bern is underway: until 15 December 2023, adults can buy the Top4 ski pass for CHF 850 and enjoy unlimited travel to the areas of Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, the Jungfrau Ski Region and Meiringen-Hasliberg.

The last sleeper was laid on the completely new section of the Grütschalp-Mürren adhesion railway on Friday, 10 November. This marks the end of the four-year construction project, which cost CHF 63 million and also included a lot of work within the framework of the Swiss Disability Discrimination Act. The new rolling stock will be ready and in service in June 2024.

The headliners of the 25th SnowpenAir on 23/24 March 2024 have been announced: On Saturday, Simply Red will be taking us back to the 1980s. Before that, it’s all about Swiss rock: Juraya will open the last SnowpenAir, with Gotthard taking on the middle slot. On Sunday, you can sing and dance along to both rock and quieter sounds on the Männlichen with Gölä, Heimweh and the Stubete Gäng. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, 8 November 2023, at 12.00 h.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG reports that the Jungfrau Railway Group performed well in the first half of the year. Both Jungfraujoch and the Experience Mountains recorded a good increase in guests. Operating income amounted to CHF 132.5 million, with a half-yearly profit of CHF 35 million. CEO Urs Kessler has decided to step down from his office as Chief Executive Officer after the General Meeting of Jungfraubahn Holding AG in June 2025, now that the Jungfrau Railway Group is debt-free and back on track. This period allows sufficient time to ensure an orderly succes-sion process.

The Grindelwald-First excursion area has gained another attraction: on Friday, 14 July 2023, the Jungfrau Railways opened the new “First View” vantage platform. The platform offers a unique all-round view of the impressive mountain world. It is accessible during the operating hours of the First Aerial Cableway; the visit is included in the rail ticket.

The Schynige Platte Railway will start running again on 1 July 2023 – the start of the season is later than usual because the track is being completely renewed. In addition to traditional alphorn performances and more than 800 plant species in the Alpine Garden, guests can now expect a bistro and new ticket offers right next to the summit station.

After two years of pandemic, Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG is back on track: transport income at the Bernese Oberland Railway increased by 98 per cent to 14.8 million Swiss francs in 2022. The Schynige Platte Railway even reached a new all-time high with transport income of CHF 4.7 million.

The queen of the glaciers is a rarity: on Tuesday, 18 April 2023, the fine wine “3454 – Reine des Glaces” was finally tasted at an exclusive event on the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. Since March 2022, the wine had been stored in premium oak barrels in the Ice Palace.

In an Ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG states that it achieved a profit of CHF 44.4 million in the 2022 financial year. This is the third best result in its history. The Jungfrau Railway Group generated transport income of CHF 139.2 million in 2022. The Board of Directors will propose a dividend of CHF 3.60 to the General Meeting.

6100 Musikfans haben am Samstag, 25. März, mit Nils Burri, Joya Marleen, 77 Bombay Street und Headliner Hecht die 24. SnowpenAir-Ausgabe gefeiert. Der erste Festivaltag am neuen Standort auf dem Männlichen war damit fast ausverkauft.

Wer beim SnowpenAir 2023 dabei sein will, muss sich beeilen: Für den Samstag, 25. März, sind im Vorverkauf noch rund 500 Tickets erhältlich, für den Sonntag, 26. März, hat es noch rund 2000 Tickets. Auf der Bühne vor Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau werden Hecht, Andreas Gabalier, 77 Bombay Street oder auch Lokalmatador Kandlbauer stehen.

He succeeds Matthias Bütler, who leaves the company at the end of April 2023 at his own request and is taking on a new challenge outside the company.

Sie ist bis ins Ziel Innerwengen bestens befahrbar. Wagemutige können es den Skistars gleichtun und die längste Abfahrt der Welt vom Start bis ins Ziel unter die Bretter nehmen.

Die Inhaberinnen und Inhaber eines Magic Passes erhalten in den Top4-Skigebieten keine vergünstigten Tageskarten mehr. Die vier beteiligten Skigebiete Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, Jungfrau Ski Region und Meiringen-Hasliberg hatten so möglichst vielen Wintersportfans das Skifahren in der Nähe ermöglichen wollen. Die Aktion wurde nun gestoppt.

More than 600,000 people visited the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe and regarding the Experience Mountains all trains, gondolas and funiculars recorded a major increase in visitors as well. The start of the winter season 2022/2023 was once again pleasing.

For winter sports fans in the Jungfrau Ski Region, there are some new things to discover this winter season. If you arrive by train, the journey from Interlaken Ost is included in your ski pass. Anyone driving their own car into the Jungfrau Region can rely on the new parking guidance system to find a parking space. For the popular evening tobogganing, there are new additional trains on the Grindelwald and Wengen side with the Wengernalp Railway, and for après-ski, there is a new meeting place in the cozy “Hütte” at the Kleine Scheidegg mountain restaurant. The valley runs are also open.
