The Wall, the new bar at the foot of the Eiger, takes its name from the nearby Eiger North Face. The new bar at Eigergletscher station was inaugurated with a showcase by DJ Antoine on Friday evening. From Saturday, 30 November 2024, guests will not only be able to visit, but also watch how an exclusive gin is created on site in a show distillery.

In June 2024, Jungfrau Railways put the replacement of the First Aerial Cableway and the Fallboden chairlift out to tender. Doppelmayr/Garaventa was awarded the contract for the modernisation of the First Aerial Cableway, including an additional chairlift. Leitner was awarded the contract to replace the Wixi-Fallboden chairlift in the Kleine Scheidegg ski area.

On Tuesday, 1 October 2024, current and former female footballers from the Swiss national team and a selection of European players competed in a show match on the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe. The exclusive event was accompanied by the launch of advance ticket sales for the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 in Switzerland and the recruitment of volunteers.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG reports that the Jungfrau Railway Group can look back on a successful first half-year. With operating income of CHF 141.8 million, the half-yearly profit totalled CHF 34.5 million, with both the Jungfraujoch and the Experience Mountains continuing to enjoy great popularity among guests.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules Jungfrau Holding AG can disclose that the Boards of Directors of Jungfraubahn Holding AG and Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG have unanimously elected Oliver Hammel as the new CEO of Jungfrau Railways. The 41-year-old will take over the operational business from the current Jungfrau Railways CEO, Urs Kessler, who will retire in June 2025.

The railway line of the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) between Zweilütschinen and Grindelwald will reopen on Friday, 16 August 2024. Thanks to the great commitment and flexibility of everyone involved, the damage to the track and infrastructure caused by the severe weather on Monday evening can be repaired by this Thursday evening. The rail replacement bus service is still in operation today, Thursday.

The railway line of the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) between Zweilütschinen and Grindelwald is expected to remain closed until Friday, 16 August 2024, following the severe weather on Monday evening. The track and overhead line were damaged by the large amount of water and fallen trees. A rail replacement bus service will be operated from this evening (13 August 2024) onwards.

On Monday, 5 August 2024, the highest ice hockey match in Europe took place on the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe: Players from the SCB, the ice hockey club of the city of Bern and 16 times Swiss champion and Swiss professionals from the National Hockey League (NHL) squared off in a showcase match at 3,454 metres above sea level and in bright sunshine.

The First Aerial Cableway needs to be updated, as the concession for the current railway expires in 2034. Various options have been examined for some time and discussions have been held with any affected landowners. On Tuesday, Jungfrau Railways Director Urs Kessler informed the Grindelwald municipal council and Grindelwald Tourism about the planning status. He explained the decision of First Aerial Cableway to currently pursue the option with the route from Fuhrenmatte/Grindelwald railway station.

The Bernese Oberland Railway carried 6.7 million passengers in 2023. That is 36.3 per cent more than in the previous year and more than ever before. Happily, the increase in transport revenue to CHF 21.2 million even outstripped the growth in passenger numbers. The Schynige Platte Railway was also able to increase its transport revenue by CHF 0.1 million. Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG generated total transport revenue of CHF 26.0 million, which is CHF 6.6 million more than in the previous year.

Another part of the new rolling stock for the Grütschalp-Mürren adhesion railway of the Lau-terbrunnen-Mürren mountain rail- and cableway (BLM) was delivered on 13 and 14 May 2024. In summer, the new multiple-unit trains will run in mixed operation with the existing trains on the completely renovated line between Grütschalp and Mürren. Various tests are still neces-sary beforehand, as is usual with new rolling stock. The railway as well as the stations and stops are fulfilling the requirements of the Federal Disability Discrimination Act. In addition, the journey time will be shortened and the capacity increased, which will contribute to in-creasing the attractiveness of the car-free village of Mürren.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG states that it achieved a profit of CHF 79.6 million in the 2023 financial year, the highest in its history. 2023 has demonstrated how the V-Cableway has made the Jungfrau Railway Group more competitive both in summer and in winter. The excursion destinations saw high demand. In 2023, the transport income of the railways and cableways of the Jungfrau Railway Group amounted to CHF 195.9 million. At the Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors will propose the payment of a dividend of CHF 6.50 per share.

Almost 11,000 music fans celebrated the 25th and final SnowpenAir in style this weekend. On Sunday they were thrilled by Göla, Heimweh and Stubete Gäng. The three Swiss acts provided the perfect party with songs in Swiss dialect. On Saturday, Simply Red, Gotthard and Juraya had already ensured a rocking and soulful first day of SnowpenAir.

On Saturday 23 March, 4,700 music fans celebrated the first day of the 25th and final SnowpenAir edition with Simply Red, Gotthard and Juraya. They braved the wind and snow on the Männlichen and could even enjoy a few rays of sunshine.

Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG is procuring four more ABeh 4/8 multiple-unit trains. This will enable the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) to expand and modernise its services further over the coming years. The three ABeh 4/4 II 311-313 railcars built in 1986 are also being replaced.

The 25th and final SnowpenAir on 23/24 March 2024 is proving popular: There are only 500 tickets left for the Sunday with Gölä, Heimweh and Stubete Gäng. There are still 2000 tickets available for Saturday.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG announces that there will be a change in the Board of Directors of Jungfraubahn Holding AG due to the twelve-year term limit: Board of Directors member Nils Graf will step down at the General Meeting on 17 May 2024. Daniel Binder is proposed as a new member of the Board of Directors.

Jungfrau Railways is breaking new ground in employee recruitment: On Sunday, 18 February 2024, those who were interested had the chance to find out more about Jungfrau Railways as an employer during their winter sports day in the Jungfrau Ski Region. The first “speed networking event” on the Wixi chairlift was very well received.

On Saturday, the downhill pros were still speeding down the Lauberhorn race track, but now the famous downhill track will be open again to all winter sports guests from Thursday, 18 January 2024. Those brave enough can follow in the footsteps of the ski stars again this week and take on the longest downhill run in the world, at least as far as the S finish. This will also be open to everyone again from Saturday, 20 January 2024.

In an ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 of the Listing Rules, Jungfraubahn Holding AG announces that the visitor numbers in 2023 increased significantly again compared to the previous year. 1,007,000 guests visited the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe, which essentially corresponds to the pre-pandemic level. Regarding the Experience Mountains, Firstbahn and Harderbahn set new records and the Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain rail- and cableway achieved pre-pandemic figures. The 2023/2024 winter season got off to a good start.

Over 32,000 Top4 ski passes were snapped up by winter sports enthusiasts during the pre-sale period from 1 November 2023 to 15 December 2023. This is slightly lower than the pre-sale figure for the last winter season (around 33,000).

On Saturday, 9 December 2023, there were two reasons to celebrate: the new Wengen Shuttle was inaugurated in Wengen, while the new Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) stop and Park+Ride were opened in Matten. The Wengen Shuttle is the last sub-project to be completed as part of the V-Cableway. The Park+Ride in Matten means that the Lütschinen valleys will be spared further individual traffic.

The Jungfrau Railways will be introducing a number of updates when the timetable changes on 10 December 2023: A new stop and a Park+Ride in Matten near Interlaken as well as selective additional trains on the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) line. On the Wengernalp Railway line, locals and visitors can benefit from the new Wengen Shuttle, which makes traveling with luggage between Lauterbrunnen and Wengen easier and more comfortable around a hundred days a year.

On Friday, the green light was given for greater security of power supply in the Lütschinen valleys. The medium-voltage lines between Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald are being upgraded in collaboration with BKW Power Grid and Jungfrau Railways. This means that the two valleys can continue to enjoy a reliable source of electricity at all times if one of the two high-voltage lines supplying the two valleys were to fail.

The advance sale for the Top4 ski pass for the four largest ski areas in the canton of Bern is underway: until 15 December 2023, adults can buy the Top4 ski pass for CHF 850 and enjoy unlimited travel to the areas of Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, the Jungfrau Ski Region and Meiringen-Hasliberg.
