Francine Jordi is the Brand Ambassador for Schynige Platte

Schynige Platte stands for the railway romance and Swiss tradition. To strengthen this positioning, Jungfrau Railways was able to enlist the pop singer Francine Jordi as Brand Ambassador. The contract was signed at the end of June 2016, at nearly 2,000 metres above sea level.

After a nostalgic ride on the cog railway, visitors will be welcomed at Schynige Platte with the sound of alphorns each day from 11 AM to 2 PM. The mountainside is playing at the Nature Cinema with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as the protagonists. The interplay of traditional music and a view onto the lakes and mountains promise pure Switzerland at Schynige Platte. To strengthen this positioning, the successful Swiss pop singer Francine Jordi has been chosen as the new Brand Ambassador for Schynige Platte. The CEO of Jungfrau Railways, Urs Kessler, signed the contract with Francine Jordi at the end of June 2016.

The singer knows the mountain destination very well and explains, "Born and raised in Richigen, I went on trips with my parents to the Bernese Oberland as well as Schynige Platte. I have always felt at home in these mountains. For me, Interlaken is a place where music is at home as well."

Hiking with Francine Jordi
The aim of the partnership is to bring Schynige Platte closer to the Swiss public. Urs Kessler is looking forward to the partnership and says, "Francine Jordi and her music stand for Swiss tradition, and it enjoys great popularity beyond the country's borders. With her, we reach a community of fans who are very much the target group for Schynige Platte." The commitment should therefore also be proactive, such as with musical evenings at Schynige Platte. Hiking with the pop singer has already been planned for this autumn. Francine Jordi is enthusiastic. "Being the ambassador for the Jungfrau region, in particular for Schynige Platte, is just like being at home for me. The alpine gardens, the unique plant and animal life, the panoramas, the fresh air and the positive people - I can wholeheartedly recommend a trip to the region."

Nature and Swiss tradition
From the start of the season to 23 October 2016, visitors can expect an interesting tour through the botanical alpine gardens with over 650 types of plants found in the Swiss Alps. Then it's worth a visit to the Nature Cinema with its oversized picture frames, peaceful oases, comfortable seats and glockenspiel. Alphorn players make music each day between 11 AM and 2 PM in front of the Schynige Platte Berghotel. Everyone interested can try alphorn playing for themselves.
