Jungfrau Railways’ offer for winter walking, sledging and enjoying the sun

Jungfrau Railways is launching an offer for guests who have given up skiing and snowboarding but still want to enjoy winter in the mountains. Instead of sun, beach and sea, with the Jungfrau Corona Winter Pass you can enjoy the snow and sun in the mountains as well as a visit to the Jungfraujoch every now and then without restrictions.

Since the Jungfrau Corona Pass was very well received during this unusual summer, Jungfrau Railways has decided to offer a similar service for the winter. Because of the continuing restrictions due to the spread of Covid-19, Swiss people should be able to enjoy winter in the mountains at an attractive price even without skis or a snowboard.

Unlimited winter leisure fun

This is why Jungfrau Railways is launching the Jungfrau Corona Winter Pass, similar to the summer/autumn season ticket. It can be used as a ticket for all Jungfrau Railways facilities. Guests who prefer to go on winter hikes, whizz down into the valley on a sledge or simply enjoy the sunshine will receive the right pass for unlimited winter leisure fun.

The Jungfrau Corona Winter Pass can be used from 1 December 2020 to 30 April 2021 across the entire Jungfrau Railways network as well as on some other railways (for scope, please visit jungfrau.ch/en-gb/corona-pass-winter). The pass can be purchased as a season pass, for one month, or for three- or seven-day periods. It can thus be easily combined with a short or longer stay in the Jungfrau Region.

New Eiger Express tricable gondola

In addition to unlimited journeys to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, the new Eiger Express tricable gondola can also be used freely. Jungfrau Railways expects positive effects for the entire region, the Canton of Bern and all of Switzerland from the new V-Cableway, which in addition to the Eiger Express includes the modern terminal, the BOB station and the new Männlichen Gondola Cableway (GGM). Winter sports enthusiasts will benefit just as much from the new public transport link and the multi-storey car park as visitors to the Jungfraujoch. The time saving of 47 minutes from all major railway stations in Switzerland can be spent on leisure activities or shopping.

To ensure that your stay and travel on the Jungfrau Railways network, at mountain restaurants and shops is a safe experience, the appropriate protective measures are in place everywhere. As with public transport, there are no capacity restrictions, but wearing a mask is compulsory on all standard and mountain routes of the Jungfrau Railways, in inside spaces open to the public such as stations, shops and cable car stations as well as in catering establishments until you are seated.
