Every day between 11.00 and 14.00 h, alphorn players give a free concert near the railway station on Schynige Platte. There is no more harmonious way to experience the warm sounds of the traditional Swiss musical instrument.

Flowery alpine meadows, exhilarating views of the lakes below and the grandiose panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau: the panorama hike with the mountain station as start and finish offers so much Switzerland in a short time.

Lily’s treasure hunt satisfies children’s curiosity and urge to run around (4 - 11 years). Those who answer all the questions correctly at the nine posts can choose a treasure from the treasure chest.

Around 800 alpine plants can be discovered in the Schynige Platte Botanical Alpine Garden. The extraordinary botanical garden shows the abundance of colours and scents of the Swiss flora above the timberline on a varied tour.

The easy “Naturkino” circular trail connects picturesque vantage points with views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Two huge picture frames with this panorama as the photo background make for really great cinema.

The Schynige Platte is the starting point for one of the most beautiful high-altitude hikes in Switzerland. The scenic tour leads in around 6 hours along the Loucherhorn and over the summit of the Faulhorn to the Bachalpsee and to Grindelwald-First.
